We’re winding down contributions through our website and shifting our support structure to Patreon. We’ve also reached out individually to our contributors, but the gist is: if you were already contributing through the old model, you’ll be able to continue for as long as you like, and you’ll still be able to manage your contribution through your account on the website. Recurring contributors on the old system will also receive access to Patreon benefits without having to change how they pay.

Now the fun part. As part of our switch to Patreon, we’re also launching some exclusive content!

First, members and supporters through Patreon will have access to the Metis Reads Book Club, featuring books by Red River Metis and select First Nations authors (a special thank you to Misha, who suggested the idea). We’ll be announcing new books and discussion topics monthly. We’ve gone for a low pressure model, where readers can participate and discuss at their own pace. We’re looking forward to some great books and interesting discussions.

We’ll also be using Patreon to host meetups and events. Our first one, coming up on April 28th (5-7pm MT), will be a Stitching Circle. All events will be free for Patreon members, but if a monthly contribution isn’t for you (or you want to check out some of what we’re offering before joining), there will also be the option to access individual events for a one-time fee.
