Thank you for Subscribing!
Maarsii to everyone who has subscribed to the magazine! We’re incredibly grateful for your support. We’ve been blown away by the positive responses to our launch, and we’re working hard to live up to everyone’s expectations.
Maarsii, also, for bearing with us as we sort out our editorial schedule, figure out how long it actually takes to collaborate on interviews and articles, and generally get our bearings. It’s a steep learning curve, setting up all new systems for an all new magazine. We will be releasing articles more regularly from now on.
In the last few days, we released two new articles: a few thoughts on Orange Shirt Day, plus a list of five Indigenous-Owned options for those looking to get a new shirt or pin; and this month’s edition of Metis Reads, covering October and November.

Metis Reads: October/November 2025
“Metis Reads collects and amplifies upcoming books by Red River Metis authors and highlights upcoming books that may be of interest to Red River Metis Readers. There’s a lot of talent in our community and we want to uplift and celebrate it. Jump in, find some great books, and consider supporting an author or two by buying or pre-ordering…”
Featuring books by Brittany Penner, Emily Grafton, and more!

However, most official partners are large brands—partners for this year include Aritzia, Canadian Tire, and Mark’s—that are not Indigenous owned.
That’s why we decided to put together this short list; we know not everyone wants to buy from a corporation. We’ve found five Indigenous-owned alternatives, all offering orange shirts with unique designs, and one great little orange shirt pin beading kit…”
